Everyday is a NEW Day!

Do you every mess up? I know we all mess up everyday, but I'm talking about those times when we really mess up in a way that causes us to feel ashamed? Sometimes when I get myself in that kind of situation, then I even feel too ashamed to even talk to God. Which doesn't make a lot of sense, because He already knows what I did and what I'm feeling. He knows everything, right?! (Yes, He does - 1 Corinthian 13:12)

God wants us to come to Him with everything. In Matthew 11:28, "Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." To be weary means to be physically or mentally exhausted, and to carry a heavy burden means to carry around something that is emotionally difficult to bear, something that is causing a lot of worry or stress. When I do something that causes me to be ashamed, then I tend to feel this way...mentally exhausted and worried. God wants us to come to Him with all this. He just wants us to spend time with Him. He just wants US (not United States, "us").

Every single day is a brand new day. Maybe, we messed up bad yesterday, and sure we still have to deal with the consequences of that mistake, but today is a brand new day where we can start new. As Anne, of Anne of Green Gables (one of my favorite movies) said, "Each day is new, fresh, with no mistakes" (at least not yet). And when we go to God with our troubles, then He will wipe the slate clean every time simply because we ask.

So maybe your having one of those days, a day that you messed up bad, and you just want to move on...Remember: Everyday is a New Day.

I love you all and pray for you often.

Jennifer
