CEA Youth Camp 2007

Wow, what a camp we had this year!

Our speaker this year was Scott Crenshaw out of Grace Commuity Center in Houston, Texas. He really did great and hit us all about going to the "Next Level" (our camp theme) in our walk with Christ, whatever that is for us. We are all at different places in life, and that includes our relationship with Jesus Christ. So, it is not about keeping up with each other, but it is about always moving forward to the next level in our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

There were many students who made a life commitment to Christ either for the first time or as a recommitment. We had 7 students, that came with us, who made a decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and make Him LORD of their life.

Congratulations to: Richelle, Tahani, Melanie, Alexis, Joshua, Matt, & Brandon!!!

Many of us climbed the telephone poles to do the "Faith Leap" and the "Zip line". Very Cool. I was pretty dissapointed though, because I over jumped the bar and wasn't able to hold onto it. I was also dissapointed because I missed Tahani and her climb up the "leap of faith" pole that resulted in a hysterical death grip hug. I saw the video and pics, but it would've been even better in person. I love you Tahani.

Activity Highlights: Team Transformed winning by a landslide because of their impressive scripture memory. Team Square Cows finding "Jesus" (that is, the 5 inch tall plastic action figure Jesus that was buried). Night time Clue Hunt...that was awesome! Although, I do think a few counselors might have hurt themselves a bit hiding in the forest at 10PM. Oh well, they all survived.

Well, let me know what you thought about camp? I'd love to read your thoughts.

Jenny
